The Lady Braves softball team won their season opener 13-0 against Chillicothe. Kyla Pierce pitched four complete innings and struck out 8 batters and did not give up any hits. Brooke Gardner relieved Kyla in the fifth inning and also did not give up any hits to get the save. The Lady Braves pounded out 13 hits against the Lady Cavaliers, while the defense played errorless ball. Leading the way for the Braves was Kayla Martin going 4 for 4 with a double and a triple with 3 RBI's. Darrian Haddox went 2 for 3 and Brooke Gardner went 2 for 3 with a triple. Brittany Pontious hit a double to center and Beckha Lucas hit a triple to left center while Shae Manson, Lindsay Brokaw, and Nikki Grambo each added a hit.

The Lady Braves played another great game defensively, however, came up one run short in the eighth inning. Kyla Pierce pitched all eight innings while only walking two batters and striking out seven. Beckha Lucas, Darrian Haddox, and Brittani Walters each had hit in the game against a strong Unioto pitcher. The Lady Braves are 1-1 and return to action on Saturday, April 4th, playing a double-header against Piketon and Waverly.
